    Air Conditioner re-do

I'd suspect electrolysis if condensers are failing. tube in tube (coaxial heat exchangers) are common parts in the HVAC trade. If you know how to recover refrigerant, cut, & braze copper, evac, pressure test, evac, and charge.. you don't need hvac techs :)

    A/C sea strainers

Just a note. If the strainers are getting fouled, regular cleaning of the heat exchangers should be part of the routine also.

Fixing little units on boats is about like fixing window units. Nothing strange or unique except they are water cooled condensers. (Water to air & air to water) which any HVAC tech should know about. But truthfully many techs will not venture away from air to air systems. Land based water...

Some very basic checking is in order. Do you have water flow in and through the condenser? Is the water coming out.. 10 - 15 warmer when in the cooling cycle? Is the discharge air 15- 20 colder then the air going in? (do this at the cooling coil after it's been running 10-15 minutes. We...

how cool does your old cruisair split system get?

15-20 t/d at the cooling coil, not downstream at the outlets.

Thoughts about cooling the refrigerator compressor itself using sea water?

They run hot, but will get very hot with an over charge from high amperage. more often than not some one over charges the little thing because some one said it needs to be cooled by the refrigerant, which is not really true. Air-conditioning compressors used to need flood back to cool the...

As mentioned, There's one down the road from me at another YC I may just go see it. $3500 OBO at a YC. I'm guessing it's been sitting for at least 20 years. One guy had a tree growing out of his at my club, until they finally changed the rules on "dead boat society"

    Webasto AC Control Panel Unresponsive

Built in time delay? That is a pretty common reason people don't understand controllers on equipment as things have become more and more electronic. Don't know about Wabasto but a 5 minite time delay can seem like eternity when you are staring at the damn thing on the wall /bulkhead "on" =...
