    Diesel price

I did top off. I hold 1050 and 675 was all I could comfortably put on. They are good guys there, they give a better price for cash. Jeff

    Diesel price

December 2022 at Covich Williams, inside the Ballard locks, on Salmon Bay in Seattle, WA: Paid $3.25 a gallon. That was the cash price and I got a good discount because I bought almost 700 gallons. :D:D

    Bow thruster

Depending on the age of the thruster, I would pull the electric motor and take it to a starter/alternator shop and have them rebuild it. I recently did that to my bow and stern thruster motors and the improvement in thrust was very noticeable. The cost was around $300 for my stern thruster motor...

Need Recommendations for a GREAT Buyers Broker in Seattle area

Hi Jeff, My wife and I purchased a 42' motor yacht last October. We were very happy with our broker, Del Kampmann. He works out of Tacoma at Breakwater Marina. Del was a fountain of information and gently steered us away from boats that he knew wouldn't meet our needs. He spent a full day...

    Sea Nettles aka Jelly Fish

I spent a night on the hook near the Port Orchard Marina (PNW) a few weeks ago. The next morning I fired up the genset. Shortly after, it did an auto shutdown. I went to the cockpit and looked around. I then noticed a large amount of fist sized jellyfish. I checked my genset sea strainer and...

Boat Yard Recommendation in Tacoma, WA?

    Are Perkins Engines Problematic?

Thanks Garrobito, Looks like we are going to end up with a Detroit Diesel powered boat. It is a 40' Cooper Prowler with twin diesel. If all goes well, should have it by the end of the month. Jeff

    Are Perkins Engines Problematic?

My wife and I actually saw your boat today at the Foss Marina. We really loved the feel of the Europa style, but felt that it just wasn't big enough. Like you had stated in a previous post, we felt a second state room was necessary. Thanks for your help!

    Are Perkins Engines Problematic?

I would be very interested to know if your boat has the mani cooler in question. Please post or send me a private message if you find out. Thanks, Jeff

    Are Perkins Engines Problematic?

My broker specifically mentioned the mani cooler, supposedly cools 3 different fluids, as being a big problem and very expensive ($8k) to replace, if you could even find one. And if you had one made, the wait time was about 8 months to get it from England. He made it sound as if all Perkins...

    Are Perkins Engines Problematic?

I'm actually shopping for a trawler in your area. I live in Gig Harbor. I like the look of your boat, but my broker has strongly advised me to stay away from the Perkins Diesel motors. He says parts are very difficult to find and expensive. What say you? Jeff
