    Cleaning heat exchanger tubes

I would stick with Chem cleaning. The rifle brush would have to ba a .17 cal, not common. 3/16" is 0.182", very slightly larger than .17 cal, and significantly smaller than .22 cal.

    Looking for odd ball washer

I found some at West Marine, Kemah,TX. I don't recall what their name is. I will look next time I am at the boat, I think I still have some remaining.

    Instrument Replacment, and NMEA addition

I spoke with a couple NoLand reps, and with NoLand themselves. It seems there is difficulty getting from Can Bus to the real world (WiFi, LAN etc.) I spoke with Chetco and their Sea Gauge has built in WiFi option, The G2 Sea Gauge will have enough I/O if I make a couple of trade offs, or use...

    Instrument Replacment, and NMEA addition

To clarify. I am planning to replace many of the analog gauges with new. I would like to also have the data via NMEA.The real goal is to have the NMEA data wireless, and able to view on android phone, ipad, and perhaps PC, from anywhere on the boat. I have a Garman chartplotter that hopefully...

    Instrument Replacment, and NMEA addition

I will be replacing the original standard instruments/gauges this year. My question is, are there currently available inexpensive NMEA hubs fully compatible with the normal analog measurement designs? I guess I will state here what I wish to avoid 1. if there is a problem with the NMEA...

    Onan 8kW heat exchanger relocation

I would avoid putting the exchanger (i.e. pressure drop) on the suction side of the seawater pump. I think this would reduce total seawater flow. And may also cause pump priming issues. My $0.02

    Preferred Bilge Coatings

Well it looks like Bilge Coat will be the coating of choice. I was looking for easy and durable, hoping to avoid the catalyzed coatings. This is actually phase 1 of the engine room spruce up. The portion of the bilge I am immediately concerned with is the keel sump. The boat is currently on the...

    Preferred Bilge Coatings

What are your preferences, and opinions on bilge paints. I don't really think I want to gel-coat. Interlux, Pettit, or Jamestown total boat bilge coatings? Advantages, disadvantages of each. They all appear to be fine products. Thanks

    Sealant for trim tab mounting?

Update: It appears that my identification of RTV silicone was incorrect. It appears that the previous sealant was 4200, or polysulfide. It cleaned up well, was semi-soft with a slight hydrocarbon odor. I ended up using 5200 where the actuator attached to the transom, and where the bolts went...

    Sealant for trim tab mounting?

Opinions on preferred sealant for mounting trim tab actuators below water line? Urethane i.e. 5200, 4200, or polysulfide? The PO used silicone sealant. One of the brass pipe nipples that pass through the transom split. A question I have is, could the silicone previously used contributed to this...
