Measurement help needed 36 MarkII lower station

I'm actually making new panels and making sub assemblies for various systems and components using the starboard. The least expensive place that I could purchase 2 X 4' 1/2" starboard was Home Depot. It wasn't even a special order item also they have 4200 and 5200 the real stuff at a fraction of...

Measurement help needed 36 MarkII lower station

My medical issues are still there and will have to be dealt with, however I'm going to have as much fun and be as productive as I can until the surgery. Then it could be a long boring recovery. My main goal with getting surgery is pain relief it's draining on my mind and body. But I'll have my...

Anything yet? Let me know.... Depending on if a lift gate is needed or not I can arrange for a commercial shipping company to pick up the unit. Thanks, Bill b.lentz@certifiedrf.com

Measurement help needed 36 MarkII lower station

Thanks I made the panel slightly larger than the marina measurements so it can be trimmed down without much effort. I'll post some pictures of the new equipment that is mounted on the new starboard (material) lower helm panel. I'm back into working on my Gulfstar I doubt it will sell this time...

The one Gadget or Piece of Equipment you would add

In order, FLTR, the AIS transponder (class B) a full blown NMEA2000 network and probably the most important when anchored or docked a great WiFi system. Since I have all of the above a bow thruster and Dickenson heaters will be next. Bill

Do you keep a Constant Lookout?

George I think this is the 1st time I have ever heard anyone call you "Dude"! Regards, Bill

    AIS and MMSI question

AIS and DSC calling and monitoring through a NMEA2000 network is fantastic and cake to use. Most AIS transponders must be factory programmed you get 1 shot (that was in the old days) also most VHF radios only allow 1 entry for your MMSI. You can delete the MMSI on all or most radios but most...

    On Demand Electric Water Heaters

Since we are talking about heating elements if you have a wind generator and or solar panels there are 12 and 24vdc heater elements you use instead of your dump load. I know they are limited from 300 to 600 watts. Also the heater could be plumbed into your primary engine then there would be no...

Do you keep a Constant Lookout?

My wife and I actually enjoyed cruising at night. However there was never a time when one if not both of us were at the helm. If you really enjoy night cruising I highly recommend a FLIR along with the obvious must have's AIS (transponder) and active working Radar. We never cruised above hull...

    For Sale: Bristol Stove

Is this still for sale? What would be approximate shipping to 08087 Tuckerton, NJ? I imagine by the time you got done crating the unit it might not be worth it overall. Sure looks like it would be a perfect fit for my Gulfstar. Bill b.lentz@certifiedrf.com

    On Demand Electric Water Heaters

AC powered on demand water heaters are power hogs. You might be able to run it while plugged in or on a 220VAC generator. They do make Propane versions but then you have to deal with all the safety features required when installing Propane on a boat. Bill

    New Member - Trawler Catamaran

I always thought these boats would make good diesel electric powered boats, meaning using a DC generator, solar and wind to replenish the batteries used for the propulsion (3 phase electric) motors. I would think the hull would be efficient enough where this could actually work and perform for...

    electrical circuit question

I did something very similar for the new owner of my old Mainship Sedan Bridge. I had added 6 DC circuit breaker sub panels to various areas of the boat, installed a Xantrex 2500 invert/ charger with a Link 2000R controller, added an extensive NMEA2000 buss. I ended up using a Word document with...

    Inverter/battery advice for a newbie

Unless you have the real estate for a large solar array and a smart MPPT charger to replenish power to the house bank 2 8D's will never cut it. Excess solar can be used to heat water with a special DC load element. We all know you can't recharge batteries from the inverter unless it's an...

Measurement help needed 36 MarkII lower station

I would like someone with a Gulfstar to measure the wooden insert below the lower helm. I intend to replace it with either stained wood or starboard. Also if you could measure the lower helm from below the wheel to the floor and the full width of the console that might help me get started...

    TV Antenna reception

There are many variables when trying to get satisfactory OTA digital TV reception from a boat. Most if not all have been covered in this thread. I still think getting a high quality Omni (UFO) with an external amplifier will give you the best results with ever changing conditions that are out of...
