    I have a 91' Californian MY (3 stateroom). 425 Cats with similar hours. Can't enough good things about the 3208 Cats. 3rd time for me. Keep your zincs up to date and oil changed on a regular basis.

    Generator randomly shuts down

    Had same problem with my NL Genset. Took awhile, but finally, the supply water hose got old and collapsed after usage. Made Genny run hot and it automatically shuts off. Just replace hose, and all is well. Hope this works for you.

    fuel burn Have 91' Cal 48 MY with 3208 Cats. Have had other boats with 3208 engines. Always seem to burn 1.5 gal/h running at 1500 rpm's which produces 9 mph

    Ditto above, change all impellers including genny. Same with water system, pump out old, treat new, and repeat until water is safe. Have all air conditioning systems serviced. All said, do the engines first.
