3208T's are still used in some SAR boats in the UK at 285hp and have a very good reputation for reliability. Being SAR they run from cold to WOT and take a lot stick but on the other hand they are rigorously maintained and have regular blood tests. They burn oil and used to eat head gaskets...

I wouldn't say they are different models, just that the starboard turbo is just out of shot. They are definitely one of Volvos better engines! As others have mentioned, genuine Volvo Penta parts can cost an arm and leg but aftermarket service items are available, or at least they are in the UK

As others have said, all you need to do is show a 3208 a starter motor and it will jump into life!
