    Reverso Connection Question

    My reverso is connected via a loop up about 10", so the only harm that can be done is with the pump on and it's valve open. Except of course for a leak in that 10" of hose.

    Don't forget to check/replace the zincs inside once you're done with the acid cleaning. (at least on Yamaha there are zincs inside the cooling jacket in the powerhead) -tom

There's no such thing as a dead short when you compare to a nominal starter cranking a big diesel. (of course, battery cable must have a clean and safe lead to the starter but...

    Turns out, I should have replaced this impeller sooner

    That's a classic. I once had rookie first mate start the generator with the intake closed. The punishment was to collect all the bits to account for the full impeller, reassembling the puzzle. :) And of course, really for my assurance that no impeller bits left behind! Semper Fi!

    I should have added that I got by fine using the common wisdom (that I did not notice in this thread so far) is to fill the coolant _very_ slowly. If you dribble it in, it leaves paths for air to come out alongside the fluid going in. If you go at full pour speeds, you will trap air. On my C7...

    I tried the air lift because I liked the idea. I only had a small pancake compressor and I found I couldn't come near a vacuum draw down before the compressor ran out of air. It's been awhile, but I wasnt able to find a way to it in stages, recharging the compressor each time. Or maybe I lost...
