    Remember Galaxy Girl ???

As this thread was posted in my honor, I feel that it is only right that I respond. The reason that I stopped posting on this forum is because some of you can be quite nasty and mean-spirited. Not everyone, but enough to make me want to move on. I am very surprised that anyone here would...

    Passagemaking question???

Welcome! Thanks for the suggestion. I will check it out. Love hearing about families that jump right in with no experience, and do well. I have actually decided to put the passagemaker on hold for now. I am going with a MY. There is a significant price difference for the amount of...

Find My Boat - $5,000 REWARD!!!

The seahorse Oceaneer I tried to get the owner to hold for me. I even had a shipping company priced and lined up. The Dixon Boat I lost while I was standing on it. Tried to outbid the other guy, but was unsuccessful. My timing was off on both of these. A boat that I would want is rare...

Find My Boat - $5,000 REWARD!!!

Peter, rather than waiting/hoping for the boat that I want to become available, I think that I might go ahead and buy a cheaper dime a dozen Hat or something similar. I'm thinking that I will hold it for 2-3 years and then sell and get what I really want. I've always had this plan B scenario...

Find My Boat - $5,000 REWARD!!!

I agree with you Richard. The boat that I want is rare and could take months to become available. I am changing my plan a bit and going to go with something else....for now.

Find My Boat - $5,000 REWARD!!!

Looks like a very nice boat. The price is north for my budget. And, I was really hoping to find a boat with a raised pilothouse. Thanks for posting it.

Find My Boat - $5,000 REWARD!!!

Pete, those Selene's are awesome! Only killer for me is the 3 stateroom layout. Also, the price is a bit high for my budget  They are very nice. Thanks for pointing it out :)

She does look like a very nice boat, right up my alley. Your right, shipping costs are very high and the electric would also be a problem. Thanks for chiming in :)

Find My Boat - $5,000 REWARD!!!

When Florida Bay Coaster "Irony" was for sale a few months ago, I struggled with that one. The interior was extremely homey and comfortable (through photos), but I was concerned about the seaworthiness. I have considered the Radiant Star? in Cali, but if I bought it, I would know that in 2-3...

Looks like a very nice boat, in excellent condition, but too small for us. Thanks for posting it. Let me know if you spot anything else :)

Find My Boat - $5,000 REWARD!!!

This is a GREAT find!!! Thank You!!! I'm sure there has to be somewhere to squeeze in another berth or 2. I e-mailed the broker. I'll call Tuesday. (Out of town tomorrow)

Yes, he did, my Mom loves it also. This has always been her favorite, but the price is too far north for me.

Does this Starlight have the same engine as your Island eagle? What's the fuel burn?

Find My Boat - $5,000 REWARD!!!

Florida Bay Coaster. yes, there is one for sale in Cali, I think it's called "North star" or something to that effect. I have been debating on it. Spoke to the broker. He said the fuel burn is great. I think it was 1/4 a gpm. I love the boat and layout, only drawback is that it is not a...

Find My Boat - $5,000 REWARD!!!

I want to thank everyone who has been scouring the net in search of my first boat. I really appreciate the time and effort. I have had many boats brought to my attention these past few days that I have not seen yet. Our family will live on the boat, including my 5 kids, so it is very important...

Find My Boat - $5,000 REWARD!!!

Wood. Of course... Thanks Ted for the info. That puts me out. I wouldn't want to undertake a $300,000 refit, that is probably really 400k, anyhow. It's kind of comical though, the add reads, needs paint...

Find My Boat - $5,000 REWARD!!!

I sure didn't. Because I e-mailed the broker before I went and a made an offer that was rejected. If I could have gotten that one at my price I would have, but since they declined I gave up on it. After that I had my decision made about the boat that I lost, so I didn't want to waste to much...

Find My Boat - $5,000 REWARD!!!

Funny you should mention, the boat that I wanted/lost was a custom build. There are boats out there that I would purchase, but they are not plentiful. There was a seahorse Oceaneer that I would have bought, but my house wasn't sold in time, so I missed it. I am in a very good position now...

Find My Boat - $5,000 REWARD!!!

Steve, those older wood boats are pieces of art. I am actually avoiding wood. There's an unbelievable Malahide in Turkey that I anguished over for months. If it is was steel or glass I would own it now, but the wood will be more maintenance than I would like to take on. Thanks for pointing...

Find My Boat - $5,000 REWARD!!!

Thanks Peter for pointing her out. I am avoiding catamarans. Know of any raised pilothouse trawlers for sale?

Find My Boat - $5,000 REWARD!!!

I sure will. I e-mailed the owner/broker. Still waiting for response. It might be more work that I am willing to do, but you never know. I can't tell if it is wood. Do you know? Have you seen it in person? I would not do wood. They say cosmetic upgrades only.
