Hello,
We currently have a sailboat and are in the market for a trawler. We are looking at a Albin 36 footer this weekend. It has 5100 hours. The pics look good but was wondering if there is anything we should be particularly looking for. We know it is an oldie but in our budget. Any suggestions, would be great.
Thank you,

Welcome aboard! There are quite a few Albin owners here. I'm sure you'll get plenty of advice.:)

Donna and Larry,
Look for dark stains below every window, that's the sign of a water leak. Check the decks carefully if they are teak. Teal decks are nice if they are in good dry shape and the caulking looks good. Reach and look where you can under those decks to see if there is evidence of leaks.
Try to see what the fuel tanks look like if they are rusty they MAY be close to leaking.
Other than that it's an old boat so look at the same things you would on any older boat
One more thing. Look closely at the keel at and under the stern tube for leaking water this is a common issue as the keels are cement filled
Happy hunting!
