So we have a 1/2 hp Sears (yes Sears) 110v "Water Jet Pump (for a pool?)
which is first in line from tank for water pressure. It recently died. Sounds like a Big A** pump for boat water pressure but what do I know. Ex-sailor with 12v water pumps are my history.

So my choices are re-build motor keeping existing, functioning plumbing in place? Or re-plumb for an additional 12v as a back up with valves etc.

The washing machine and dishwasher are OK with 12v pump...but I don't know what I don't know...:ermm:

Thanks in advance!

Get rid of that pump. It only runs at two pressures, On and Off. Get a variable pressure pump. they run hard when demand is high and idle down for less flow. Nearly silent and not too expensive. They will last forever.
