    • The Classified section is for advertising, members are asked to refrain from posting discussions to a Classified Ad. Please start a discussion thread or PM the owner for discussions.
    • Do not hijack another member's ad by posting unsolicited commentary. Example: if a member has posted an ad offering an anchor for sale, don't add a post to his thread stating that you have an anchor you'd like to get rid of also. Posts deemed as unsolicited commentary may be removed.
    • For your own security, do NOT include your e-mail or phone number in your ad. Instead request that interested parties contact you via PM (private message) to provide owners contact info.
    • Brokers, Dealers, or those with a commercial interest in a sale are prohibited from posting in Classifieds.
    • Only Trawler Forum Commercial Members may post ads in the Commercial section. You must be a designated Commercial Member to start threads in this section of the forum. (Contact a moderator if you have questions about this)
    • Don't post links to commercial sites where you are also offering the boat, such as eBay, Craigslist or Yachtworld, etc. unless it contains a more in-depth description, additional information or pictures.
    • Place only one ad per item (you may repost only when your ad has expired and been removed).
    For Sale ads MUST include:
    • Asking price
    • Location
    • A Basic Description
    • Clear statement whether you are the owner or non-owner (posting for friend, relative, or acquaintance)
    • Don't forget to select: FOR SALE, WANTED or FREE in the Title block.
All ads should also include ALL the following:
    • Pertinent maintenance and condition information
    • Exterior picture or pictures
    • Interior picture or pictures (boats)
For maximum impact & exposure, it is suggested the Ad Title include: Year, Manufacturer, Model, Length, Price, and Location or at the very top of the ad body. • Avoid Scams.

Our classifieds are free and anyone registered here is welcome to post an ad.
Be aware that there are unscrupulous folks out there. Avoid any interaction that seems odd to you or feels wrong. Inquiries from unknown buyers, buyers agents and other non-traditional approaches should be treated with extreme caution.

Beware of unsolicited contacts offering to put you in touch with someone else who is buying or selling via e-mail or text.

Do not post your e-mail address or phone number in a classifieds ad.

Hints that you may be dealing with a Scammer:
    • Seller or Buyer approaches you via a direct email or PM and then steers you to an off-site communication method (text or email).
    • No posts or very few forum posts.
    • Recent forum membership
    • Insists on conducting negotiations via email or text rather than PM
    • Requires payment via Bank Transfer, BitCoin/CryptoCurrency, WesternUnion or other unsecured method.
    • Buyer or Seller suggests Paypal "Friends and Family" payment. Paypal is a good way to arrange payment but an invoice for goods and services should be used rather than "Friends and Family". "Friends and Family" avoids fees BUT there is no recourse if the transaction runs aground. Friends and Family is for gifts only. There is no protection for Friends and Family transactions, so never ever use it to buy something.

40' Pacific Trawler
Lady Viv is a 2003 Pacific Trawler 40 built in Bellingham, WA to the first owner’s specifications. We’re the second owners and are profoundly grateful for being her caretakers for the past four years. Listed as Hull #57, she was the second-to-last hull built. Pacific Trawlers are known as highly suitable coastal cruisers for the Pacific Northwest; many have voyaged to Alaska and back.

The semi-displacement hull and 220 hp Cummins 6BT5.9 diesel keep her cruising smoothly and easily at 8.2 knots hull speed, 10 knots cruising speed, and 11 knots top speed. A 400-gallon diesel tank provides fuel to the engine, genset, and forced-air heating system. Range on a full tank is approximately 1000 miles. Despite this she has only 1680 hours on her original engine and has not been put through “hard miles” during her lifetime.

The pilothouse layout provides excellent visibility fore, abeam, and aft, making it easier for a couple or singlehander to sail and dock the vessel. Bow and stern thrusters help ease into tight moorages without throttle heroics. A pair of Eartech “marriage saver” headsets make yelling while maneuvering a thing of the past.

Her 13’ beam and salon layout make for a spacious, relaxing environment for entertaining or cruising. Woodwork is a warm golden mahogany, with teak handrails and grip rails for moving about in a seaway. The full-size U-shaped galley, deep single-basin sink, and three-burner propane stove provide plenty of countertop for meals and preparation, and there is ample storage in the cabinets, side-by-side fridge-freezer, and tambour-door cupboards. Tall, or have tall friends? Headroom throughout is a spacious 6’ 6”. The settee converts into a double berth for when occasional visitors spend the night.

The head has a full-height shower with portlight ventilation to prevent moisture buildup. The cockpit also has a fresh-water washdown faucet for cleaning up after seaborne adventures. Saltwater washdown is also available in the cockpit, as is a saltwater washdown by the windlass for cleaning bottom mud from the anchor.

A master stateroom in the bow features a walk-around queen bed, cedar-lined hanging lockers to port and starboard, and drawers and dry storage beneath the bed itself. The deck hatch has a combination sliding blackout shade/ screen for helping keep things cool or dark, depending on your sleep preferences.

The flybridge has duplicate helm and engine controls, a depth sounder repeater, and a second VHF mic for communication. Below decks, in addition to the fuel tank are two 75-gallon water tanks, a 40-gallon holding tank, an IsoTemp Spa 20 water heater, Northern Lights 5kW genset, and the house and start batteries. Best of all, belowdecks are clean, dry, and sound, with additional storage space for gear or spares.

The Zodiac Cadet 310 dinghy has a fiberglass hull with reinforced keel strip and PVC tubes. She is stored on the upper deck on deck chocks along with a Mercury 9.9 hp outboard.

Mike- this is an interesting boat, with a number of things I have been looking for. A few questions- 1. Is there a second helm seat in the pilothouse
2. Is there a port door as well as starboard
3. how do you get the dinghy on and off - is it s crane or a other
4. You have it listed as 43LOA - does that include the anchor or swimstep?
5. do you have much experience single handing the boat - something I would be doing a lot of.

Thanks for your time in providing some answers.
Kevin

Kevin:

Pleasure to meet you! Answers below.

1. There are full helm seats and controls on the flybridge and in the pilothouse. In the PNW, the pilothouse was the preferred helm as the flybridge lacks a bimini.

2. Pilothouse has doors to port and starboard, as well as access gates with hull steps to get down onto a dock.

3. Dinghy uses the mast crane, 4:1 purchase and Lewmar self-tailing winches. The guard rails are cleverly built to be removed and moved aside, leaving room for the dinghy to swing out to port or stbd.

4. The 43' includes the swim step and the anchor.

5. I've single-handed her several times but not for extensive cruising. The best thing is there's a midship hawsehole and cleat right next to each pilothouse door. It was pretty easy to step off the boat and tie off the midship line, then get stern and bow lines set. Wind and current will play havoc regardless. One thing that would make this easier is a remote fob for bow and stern thruster control. We couple-cruised so didn't invest in the remote.

Let me know what else I can answer for you, Captain. Cheers!

Thanks for the quick answers. Finally found the Pacific Trawler posts here. Was your boat built with plywood or balsa core material?

To the best of my knowledge, it's simply FRP with wood coring. I suspect it's ply, especially in the bulkheads, but I haven't had cause to drill through the hull or deck for any fittings. She is quite solid, no flex or give on any deck surfaces.

Mike- thanks for the information. Sounds like a good boat but probably not for me. Good luck on the sale.

Great info in that drawing! Any idea when it was done? Info like this is hard to come by.
