Hi folks,

Looking at an advertised "390" but checking the Hull Indentification Number it looks like it's a 350 instead. Thought I'd double check with the group.

The HIN product number is MPT35078 and it was built in March of 98. It also doesn't have the Samson Post or the single beds in the second cabin.

Not a deal breaker, but definitely a question.

Thanks,
Chris

If it's a 1998 its a 350, but it's the same boat, same hull, just built before they changed to nomenclature to 390 in 1999, and with the features they were using in 1998.

Was it marketed as a 390 or a 39?

Guest Berth: 350 has a double, 390 has twins

Galley: 390 has a dish storage unit in the shelf above the galley sink.

Sampson Post: Standard on the 390

Salon: 350 has a more pronounced 'desk' on the stbd side immediately inside of the sliding door.

Badging: The 350 is marked Mainship Trawler 350, while the 390 is clearly marked 390.

Other than these things they are identical boats.

Thanks for the quick replies. Pretty much what I had figured out.

It doesn't have any of the 390 changes, but still a nice looking boat.

Thanks,
Chris

Good summary - but quick clarification. The Sampson post was not standard on the 390 - at least not all years. I’ve seen a lot without, including my 2001. Not sure when it was added - whether optional or standard. I like the Sampson post and wished my 390 had one.

If you check the Library under Miscellaneous you’ll find a comparison between the 350/390 and 400 models.

For inquiring minds...made an offer and it wasn't accepted. The search continues!

Not too many Mainships here in the PNW. Maybe I'll get one on the east coast, do the loop again, and then ship it home.

Thanks again for the help.

Chris
