I am* going to look at another boat tomorrow

A timber 40ft cruiser
It has a 671 GM (DD)

What sort of economy can I expect at 1850rpm??

Benn can you help me out here as it is 20 years since I have had anything to do with these motors??

Depends on the prop and load.

The usual Rulle of Thumb on a DD is 16 hp is a 1 gph fuel burn.

A 40 ft boat at say 6.5K should be under 2 gph if all is well.
