What boat? GB marinized a JD tractor engine years ago. Not a bad engine, but a bit of a unicorn if you ever need a manifold. You'll be on your own finding parts, and will need to make modest modifications to refit exchangers, pumps, and hoses as there may be no off shelf items.

Bottom line is diesel engines last a long time. Marinization is a bit more fragile than the engine itself. If you are looking at a boat with unusual marinization, it could complicate your ownership experience.
