Go to Prime video or YouTube and look for country house gent or travels by narrowboat. He has documented his experience moving aboard a Classic narrowboat and traveling the canals of the midlands. These are 4 or five seasons available.

We have done it and its a great holiday - they are narrow though -I could touch both walls of the lounge area at the same time.

If you are into speed - forget it. They are governed to walking pace which gives plenty of time to anticipate the next pub you are going to tie up to.... oh..........and appreciate the scenery

That show is what got us thinking about it. We just recently binge watched it on amazon prime.
