Our Krogen Manatee Mango Mama should be delivered to the Twin Dolphin Marina in Bradenton by the end of January. We will need to arrange for some bottom work soon. Can you recommend any good boatyards for a light bottom peel?

The boat has a lot of surface blisters that don't appear to go beyond the first 1/16" layer. Of all the blisters we popped, none penetrated more than that. It looks like a previous bottom job with the wrong final coating.

We'll probably want some trim paint and gelcoat buffing done also.

Thanks in advance,
Garry

Try Snead Island boat Works.* Drive over the bridge to Palmetto.* Turn left on 10th St (I believe).* There is a CVS on the corner and stop light.* Drive to the end of the road on Snead Island.* Very close to you.* Gary Alderman would be the one to talk to.* They do good work.

Garrry,

If you haven't negotiated the entrance from the Bay to the Manatee River, be very careful.* It would not be good in any kind of strong northerly wind.* The channel is narrow.* It seems you could almost put your foot on the landside shoal.* The waves there can be very short and steap, and you have to make a couple of turns.

I have had two bottom jobs at Snead Island Boat Works. Good work but a little pricy just like everyone else.

When you get to Twin Dolphin ask where Cecil's boat is and talk to him. He is a retired airline pilot and will know where the deals are. He just had a bottom job done at a less expensive place and was satisfied.

There are a number of yards in the Salt Creek area in St Petersburg.
