Lookd through a bunch of articles on this topic.

I have no clue where it affects titles and damage.

I just bought a boat and am about to sell a boat in Florida.

Nothing at the DMV issuing titles or anything written on the current titles suggests that any information has to be written on the titles like the article suggests (at least I thought I read that).

Maybe it's just one of those open disclosure laws that says if your boat went aground and you had a hole repaired, you have to disclose that, or later the new owner can sue when the damage was discovered.

In other words..... no more sales "as is".....

It looks like this only applies to severe /hull/ damage and that the law prescribes how to cause the inclusion on the title to be made.

This bit may be of interest, "compromised with respect to the integrity of a vessel’s hull by a collision, allision, lightning strike, fire, explosion, running aground, or similar occurrence, or the sinking of a vessel in a manner that creates a significant risk to the integrity of the vessel’s hull."

Pretty vague.... a pinhole causing a sinking is "compromised hull integrity".

Written by landlubbers no doubt. :D
