Hi- My wife and I caught the trawler bug during the pandemic and have explored all over the San Juans and Gulf Islands in the NW. Also the Telemark Canal. We charter only and have tried out various sizes of American, up to a 43.5, as well as Seahorse 52 and a Greenline 39.

We are now looking for power charter options in the Baltic for 2025, out of Northern Germany, Denmark, Sweden or perhaps even Finland(?). Googling so far has turned up mostly sail- no offense but not interested, as well as lots of commercial sites that are dead ends.

Does anyone have recommendations of charter outfits or options that might fit our needs and tastes?

Thanks!
Brian and Keri

Hi CurtD- Yes we know them and have used them. Love love them! They are limited to the Telemark canal and coastal waters of Norway though.

For the Baltic Sea area so far it looks like Germany may be the best bet. One boat rental place in Denmark stated that there are no bareboat charter outfits in Denmark. No leads so far in Finland and we would not want to charter in St Petersburg Russia even if that were possible.

The owners describe their service below. Located in Turku, west coast of Finland, I think.

Our Nordhavn lifestyle

Living aboard a Nordhavn yacht is not for everyone, but for us it is the best way to live. We enjoy the simplicity, the flexibility, and the closeness to nature. We also love the community of fellow Nordhavn owners and cruisers, who are always friendly and helpful. We have made many friends and shared many stories on our travels.

We try to do as much of the yacht maintenance by ourselves as possible. We have learned much and always learn more. We are lucky that Katri is a professional chef, and I am an engineer in computer science and keen on all kinds of machinery, electronics, and electrics. We make a good match not only to operate and maintain the yacht, but also to serve our guests.

As an addition, we offer Nordhavn experience to our guests as charter. We enjoy serving nice guests and I guess we have been lucky, because all our guests have been really nice people. Most of our guests have been somehow interested in Nordhavn yachts, either potential future buyers or someone who have given up the thought of buying and maintaining their own big yacht, but still want to experience the lifestyle.

Our charter service

The best match for our guests is people who want to learn all aspects of the Nordhavn yacht ownership. We operate our N64 just by the two of us. We can show our guests how it all is done in practice. We can also teach them some sailing skills and tips and share our knowledge and experience of cruising in different regions.

Our charter cruising area is the Finland Archipelago, which contains endless selections of nice islands and sheltered anchorages. We tailor each charter individually for our guests, according to their preferences and wishes. We can offer a variety of activities, such as fishing onboard, fishing and exploring on SeaDoo Fishpro or RIB tender, wakeboarding, waterskiing, hiking, biking, SUP boarding or just relaxing on board. We can also take them to some of the best spots for sightseeing, culture, and history.

We have 3 guest cabins/suites to choose from, starting price at 900€ per 24 hours for 2 persons. You can choose to eat meals on board or visit restaurants shoreside. We have a price list for meals available on request. Marina fees around here are very affordable, and we can always choose to anchor out for free.

Our invitation

The best cruising season is going on right now. We still have some vacancy for the season. If you are interested in joining us for a Nordhavn adventure, please contact us by email or phone. We would love to hear from you and to welcome you on board Sweet Hope. We promise you a memorable and enjoyable experience that you will never forget.

Our contact details can be found on our website sweethopeyacht.com.
