Clear adhesive/sealant question

I need to replace the leaking homemade front hatch cover on my older Albin. I've attached a photo of the existing rear hatch cover that has not leaked and has worked well for us. The "plexiglass" cover on the rear hatch is sealed with a unknown to me clear sealant. I am making a copy of the rear hatch cover for my replacement up front. What would be a suitable adhesive/sealant to use on my new cover? Appreciate your opinions.

I have found that Lexel is far and away the most reliable clear sealant.

This stuff is everything silicone wishes it was.

sticks to anything
is crystal clear and stays clear in the sun
is paintable if need be

I only carry a very few sealants on the boat.

I have been using Lexel (clear) for many things and I am impressed with its ease of use, manufacturer claims, and price. They have a list of where NOT to use the product on their website.
