No info on Cross, but..
Make sure to get your boat well insured when yacht shipping.

All American Marine had a new build that was being shipped from Vancouver severely damaged when the ship dropped a deck plate or hatch. Supposedly an Ocean Alexander was also hit and was expected to be a total loss.
Do not rely on the insurance carried by the ship.

My and other's experience with Sevenstar, one of the big shippers in the business, is they will NOT insure your boat. Which to me implies they wll take no responsibilty if something happens. This is not to say they are not good at what they do, they are very good. But the risk is all on you.

I don't know where you have gotten this information, but Sevenstar and their subsidiary both quote with insurance. From our most recent quote:

includes: Loading, lashing, discharging, and yacht transport insurance for your yacht.

Declared value also listed.

I got my personal information when having a boat shipped by Sevenstar from Rotterdam to Florida. Then Florida to Vancouver BC. When I say "others" I'm working from memory having read other's accounts of shipping via Sevenstar. It may be that Sevenstar will now sell the required insurance. In 2017 they did not.

Cross Chartering is another splinter group from the Old Yacht Path and by way of United Yacht Transport. This lineage has had a history of issues with freighters from not being paid which led to the bankruptcy of Yacht Path. I'm still scared of all associated. However, this is guilt by association rather than anything Cross Chartering has done, although Paul Haber was the founder and President of United which does have some litigation, prior to Cross Chartering.

However, setting that aside for a moment and assuming you can get protection through due diligence, both financially and insurance wise, on to the rest. As they don't own any ships, they're contracting for space and their ability to maintain schedules and come close to original quotes is less than Sevenstar which does own ships. The other side of that is they are less expensive.

One other thought. Direct shipments are generally handled better than those with loadings and unloadings along the way. Keep that in mind. If it's directly from FLL to Ensenada, then only one point of delay. However, if it stops along the way and loads and unloads, then the chance of delay and problems increases significantly. It's the nature of yacht transport.
