Hello this is a great forum, lots of information. I have replaced my factory platform with a custom aluminum platform 4feeet x 12 feet.

I am not sure about "blowouts" The vent spacing allows water pressure to escape if a rapid stop or strong stern wave hits us. I have a seaweed davit system that will be mounted. Can anyone shed some light on what is recommended? Thank you

I don't have any real expertise, but I would be very worried about venting. I could imagine a situation in big waves where the stern could rise up, then slap that thing down whale tale style. At 48 sq feet, I would imagine that it could generate a mind bending amount of force. Make sure you don't rip the stern off your boat with it. Might be worth running the plan by a navel architect.

We just added a swim platform extension on our Formula 41PC. It is 63” fore and aft and about 110” athwartship. It has 5 vents to prevent that very thing.

My "gut feel" is that there is not enough vent space.
But you'll learn if it is or not fairly quickly.
