Title sb Dingies not Dingos.
I will be transporting my dingy on my new davit system. She will ride high at cockpit roof height. The motor will remain hanging on the transom. I do not want to remove the motor hence the new davit system. The dingy is a 10’ inflatable the outboard is a 6hp Tohatsu.
Should the motor be left down in the running position? Should it be tilted in the out of water position? I see both in my travels around the marina.

If the clearance is ok I'd leave it down. What advantage would there be raising it?

Our dinghy hangs in davits with the outboard still mounted on it (also a 6hp Tohatsu). The outboard stays down, but turned sideways. That gives the shortest length and turning it sideways also gives more clearance between the outboard and the dinghy lifting bridle. Even if length isn't an issue I wouldn't tilt it up. It's more stress on the dinghy transom.
