We are considering painting some of the aft cabin walls in order to lighten up the appearance and I’m thinking about removing some of the trim and refinishing the trim at home to get a head start. I noticed the window interior casing has quite a few wooden bungs and now I’m reconsidering removing them. The exterior window frames are aluminum and don’t leak. Does anybody know how the windows and casings are attached? I don’t really want to mess with the exterior frame.

I have metal exterior and interior frames. The exterior frames are bedded with butyl tape and fastened with screws. The screws are accessed behind the rubber strips on the exterior window frame.

The interior and exterior frames are completely separate.
