I have bought about 4 or 5 matts for guest to wipe feet over the past years. Every one that I bought, seamed to trap the dirt under it leaving more of a mess than what its worth.

Has anyone found one that without this problem? I hate to spend more money on one to just throw it away again!

If you use regular rubber mats, leave them on the dock. As was mentioned, cloth mats work well. Keep a few and rotate them out as they get dirty. I wash them with my rags.

Cotton bath mats that are rotated out. In really wet or sloppy weather, sometimes we use folded beach towels that are dedicated to the purpose. They are larger and will soak up more water, etc.
