I hope this will be considered a service for cruisers , rather than an advert.
I am located in Ortona Florida ,off the Caloosahatchie Waterway which is about 100 miles from the East Coast and 50 from the West coast , Ft Myers .
This is considered a natural Hurricane Hole , and with homes on dug canals the boats are about 10 ft down from the land surface level..
The great location was noticed by commercials , who constructed storage facility a few blocks away.
River Forest Yachting Center, riverforestyc.com/
"La Belle" is what they call the facility at Ortona , it shows better on maps.
The local home owners are frequently willing to let out their docks for storage.
The usual charge is $50 a week during the off season , when loads of Canadians and cruising Yankees go home for the Holiday season.
During the Hurricane season most will charge the same $200 a month but will require a minimum of 4 or 5 months.
NO you cant just come in in the day of the Hurricane!
Usually Battery Maint electric is available , no air cond or de humidifiers with most owners , tho a few have electric meters .
Anyone interested should PM me and I will send a list of phone contact info.
Its been half a decade since the last big breeze , BE Prepared.
Overnight free docking is always at our place to any and all cruisers, space available , usually all winter.
