After a lovely 18 months in North Queensland we are on our way back south.
Our trip so far has involved a few delays due to the unsettled weather starting with a 6 day delay at Shaw Island!
Our fuel consumption has been slightly higher on the way south due mostly to running at planing speeds to reduce transit time in rough water. We prefer calm conditions!!
We are currently sitting in Mooloolaba and the trip to-date has taken 18 days to cover 539 miles using 1678 liters of diesel ( plus genset use). That’s 3.1 liters per nautical mile compared to 2.3 on the way up the coast.
We filled at Abell Point ($1.40 per liter) and again at Bundaberg ($1.17 per liter)
We hope to get to Sydney over summer then after what will be three years of cruising it will be time to move back on land!!
