I'm looking at a Racor 120A for a new 5.5kW genset; ~9HP diesel. It is advertised for low flow. Good choice?
Perfect. Rated at up to 15 gph. You'd be hard pressed to run 0.75 gph through your generator.I'm looking at a Racor 120A for a new 5.5kW genset; ~9HP diesel. It is advertised for low flow. Good choice?
I got rid of my Racor 500s for the two generators and plumbed a valved supply from a "tee" off the main feed to the propulsion engines. I have run both the generators and the main engines at the same time with no fuel feed problems. However, my engines are Lehman 120s which draw very little fuel, no more than 2 GPH. Plus, I rarely, almost never run the generators while cruising so it really doesn't matter. Just another boat hack that works for one boater. What you see in the pic is a Tony Athens sequential filtering head with a 20-micron filter leading to a 10-micron filter.I do not miss having the clear bowl on the Racor 900s that this setup replaced, one for each engine. Changing filters takes five minutes each. No muss, no fuss.Probably a good choice.
I was going to recommend a Racor 500 only because of the larger bowl. Nearly choked when I saw the price. If your tanks stay clean, 120A should be fine.

Tks. Its a primary for a Lehman. Ill go with mvweebles on the 10 micron
Probably a good choice.

Racor SNAPP series look attractive. I am using one for the gas center console
A 60 second changeout, plus filling/priming time.
