Anyone replace a fuel sending unit located in the tank?

Jclays,
I have not but both of mine are bad I assume. Neither register on the gauge at the lower or topside helm.

Have you checked all the connections? Make sure the sending unit is really bad before replacing it. Could be just a bit of corrosion on the connections.

Youtube - search for replace boat fuel tank sender.

I replaced mine on my 1997 350. Only one was bad so I removed good one and connected to bad unit's wiring to verify it was the sender. West Marine has a generic sender that works fine. Only problem, port tank sender is mounted within 3" of deck so absolutely impossible to remove. My tank had another inspection plate that I was able to remove and install the new sender. You adjust it to fit your tank, easy and inexpensive.

Replaced them in both tanks on this 2005 MS Pilot. They are WEMA/KUS brand. Not sure about yours. I had to cut access holes in the bottoms of the stowage compartments of the bench seat to get to them. If same brand as mine, the model number, including the length of the sending unit is on top of the unit.
