Cormorant. An historic name for Aussies. In German form "Kormoran", the name of a well armed German auxiliary cruiser which in WW2, off the coast of Western Australia, fought a battle to the death with HMAS Sydney. Kormoran would masquerade as a merchant ship, and then fire at close range on a deceived ship. The wreck of the Sydney was found recently, not sure about Kormoran.
Which takes nothing from Coot and Cormorant, both lovely little ships.
