Hello there - we are in the process of purchasing a Hardin 42 and looking for any intel/background - I know Bill Hardin used one of the boatyards in Taiwan to build these boats.
one of the 2x4s supporting the floor has RT1452 carved into it which I am presuming to be the actual boatyard designation as well as possibly the hull number?
Anyways, survey and mechanical inspection scheduled for this week - previous survey in 2020 was very good with no items identified for attention. She is also boathouse stored so that is a bonus.
One other question - a couple of the wood trim (mahogany??) are missing - the curved ones for where the side and bottom trim merge. Any sources for replacing these, or am I on my own to purchase straight pieces, steam them and shape them?
Thanks,
Lance
