Allow me to introduce myself. I am getting back to boating after a long pause of 30 years. Back in the day, I had a small runabout on a big river; now, I aim for the trawler experience with a long-term plan to complete the Great Loop. My business operates remotely, so I need a vessel that can serve as a mobile office platform to power my workstation and have space for a display, not a laptop, and carry the crew of two (my wife and myself) Hence, the trawlers... So I am on the market for a used one.
I came to this forum after a recommendation from my broker. He said "listen to these guys first," so here I am! I am a mechanical engineer capable of primitive wrenching (say, I can do electrical work, check and replace wires, connect a radio, or fix and replace hoses, bearings, and stuff). However, I can't rebuild an engine or fix the transmission. Hope that could help me with the used boats the same way it helps with my project car
