Hello Manhattan Project:
Are any of the old boathouses still standing along the Eau Gallie River?
My sister was born in Eau Gallie in 1958, back before the town of Eau Gallie was absorbed by Melbourne in 1969. (Lots of history and bad blood still swirl around the merger.)
For y'all non-Floridians, the name of the former town refers to the coquina rocks strewn around the entrance to the Eau Gallie River Inlet off the Indian River.
The name has a beautiful origin:
Eau - "water" in French
Gallie - derived from "galet" which is "pebble" in French
Welcome Aboard,
Mrs. Trombley
