Helm pump steering wheel weight

Yes, that post title is correct, not an error or attempt to be funny.

I spotted a beautiful bronze ship's wheel in an antique shop. It's heavy. 20 lbs, maybe more. Any idea if the steering shaft on a Capilano helm pump could handle that weight? Without damage to bearings, seals etc.
 
Steering Pumps / Mechanical Helms for Boats are typically designed to a provide a secure hand hold in rough conditions. The Capilano systems are commercial grade, I doubt a 20lb wheel would be out of spec. When I have had to contact Sea Star in the past they have been very helpful.

Thank you. Makes sense. I should have connected those dots having had to hang onto the wheel in heavy weather.
