I place high priority on propeller/shaft/rudder protection (along with 360-degree decks/visibility and strong/high railings.)

High, strong railings (plus six adults supervising) made boating with four children on deck much less nerve racking. The three oldest kids will likely remember the voyage for a lifetime. (May 4 observation of the Vallejo yacht race on San Pablo Bay):

Having strong high hand rails are very import when it comes to children. Great looking grand children, and they are at great age, before they become teenagers. Now they don’t have interest and time for us, unless the need MONEY. Just bought grand daughter her first prom dress. 17 dresses! :flowers: I told her it had to have straps as I seen he dance and bob around. :D Good days and memories. :socool:

My wife likes the wide body for that reason with grand children in mind. Good thing we did as we had three live, new born, 2, and 7, with us for 2+ years, which was the reason we enclosed canvas and remodel the stern. The pilot house, front deck, nice to have Portugese Bridge and the roof were closed locked off. The new Poster Boat would have been perfect. Lucky she did not see it as she might have bought it.
