Lewmar Windlass Motor

I have a Lewmar V1 windlass on my 2006 Mainship 34T.

Can the motor for the windlass be rebuilt? It seems to be running a bit slower than usual and has some surface rust on the casing.

See what amperage the motor is drawing. You could have dirty connections or too small of primary wires.

And, yes motors can be rebuilt.

Yes, I had one rebuilt. Brushes and bearings easy, windings a bit tougher.

But I agree, most likely electrical supply: wiring size, connections, switches or solenoids.
