Lithium Batteries

I am looking for the ABYC standards for using Lithium Batteries on board.

The part that I am looking for is TE-13. I can only find small portions of it and not that the whole standard. Real point is, if I follow that standard on my install and something happens. I want to be covered under my Insurance.

It should be accessible via any membership that gives you access to the standards. I'm pretty sure that and individual membership is not too expensive.


I think following the technical report is a good idea as that's the best that's available currently. E-13 is in progress which is the follow on actual standard. BTW, I have never seen insurance language that will deny claims if work isn't done to ABYC standards.
