Closing on a 2005 in 2 weeks and need to add an inverter and batteries. Will also be adding a bow thruster. Looking for suggestions on placement of inverter.

Also, where was the ice maker installed if ordered new? I know I will need one over the next month of tweaking [emoji16]
Thanks all

Is the boat a sedan or an aft cabin? Two or three staterooms?

Aft cabin

Our boat is also an aft cabin, two stateroom. If you go down the steps from the galley towards the engine room the inverter is in the opening to your right. Keep going through the engine room door and there are three 8D batteries located between the engines, with a thick plastic (I think) grid covering them. There is a rotary switch from the batteries to the inverter and also a rotary switch for the bow thruster located just inside the engine room door to the right (port side). I'll post some pictures after I go to the boat tomorrow. It just so happens I have to replace the three batteries as they are starting to not hold a charge.

Here are pictures of the three batteries between the engines, the covers over the batteries, the inverter location, and the inverter and bow thruster switches. Let me know if you have any questions.

Oh we love spending other peoples' money.

Do you plan on 'single handing' a lot?

Thx for the pics! The boatyard suggested 6 golf carts under the aft bed.

I don’t like flooded batteries under a berth. If you are going to put them there use an AGM or similar.

Looking at the photo of the inverter the cabinet looks fairly small. Does the door have some vents in it to let cooling air in and hot air out?

Totally agree. Going with sealed agm.

Comodave, the inverter is an old 2003 model and almost fills up the 17 by 19 inch opening. There is no door, the opening is wide open. As it turns out, I just found out the charger side is overcharging the batteries and it's time to replace it with something more modern. Just another couple boat bucks.

I had just assumed that there was a door, but if it is open then ventilation isn’t an issue.
