I have a pair of them on the fore deck that switch the windlasses solenoids to activate up or down. They are from about 1995 and still perform as new.
I discovered that one of the brass nuts that clamp the electrical connection to the switch is missing and likely found its way beneath about 600 lbs of anchor chain. I'm not digging for it, yet.
Today, a Sunday I emailed Maxwell looking to find out if they have a replacement as the stud is unusual as it is 5/16" diameter with a thread count of 22 threads per inch.
Surprisingly the Sales Manager from Maxwell in Maryland sent me a note back that said, it's too old (like me) and after checking with New Zealand nobody remembers what was used in 95.
It's not 5/16 UNC or UNF, nor is it 8m-1.25 or 1.0.
It measures 22 TPI, which is a British Standard Fine thread count for 5/16".
So, before I order some BSF-22 nuts from a British hardware supplier (seems the Triumph and BSA motorcycle enthusiasts are still going strong) does anyone in the TF world know what was used on these switches?
