We are based on North Hutchinson Island. We are scheduled for a 21 day Seabourn cruise to South America in ten days. NO WAY JOSE! We are moving our sailing to Fall, due to Coronavirus threat.
SO: We are thinking staying on our own trawler is a much safer place to be and we are looking for any other trawler owners that might want to cross Lake O to the West Coast of FL .
We have made the crossing numerous times in our Monk 36. We cruise at 8 knots and would like to leave anytime in the next couple of weeks. We prefer marinas and will likely stop at Roland Martin's Marina in Clewiston, then a marina in Ft. Myers. Would like to cruise either north or south on the Gulf coast, preferring protected waters whenever possible.
Although we have made the trip across several times, it's always nice to go with others who travel at the same speed and perhaps have local knowledge on the Gulf Coast.
Let us know if anyone is interested in heading west. We plan to be gone for two-three weeks.
Thanks,
Rick and Donna
