Moriches Inside Condition

Coming from the Connetquot River, Oakdale, for the last few years I’ve been taking the Fire Island Island to go east. I usually come back in via the Shinnecock Inlet. Of course, I have always enjoyed for many years just going east via Great South Bay-Bellport Bay-Moriches Bay-Shinnecock, etc. on the inside.

So, in this new season the question arises, just what is the condition of Moriches around the Coast Guard Station? Can I get through with a 3’ 8” draft?

Hey @Intotheblue , Not sure if you saw my posts last year and mid July this year. I understood that the Moriches East/West-West/East route in front of the CG Station had been dredged this year but communication with local TowBoatUS told us that route was rapidly filling in. We had success with our route from the last few years... posted previously.

How did you make out? Did you go "inside" out to Shinnecock?
