Moved in the trawler world from years of sailing recently. I guess that’s my excuse for posting a question as to what these two stainless items on our swim platform are meant for. Grand Banks 42 Classic however I suspect they are found on various makes.
We look forward to replies.

Weaver snap davit mounts. 2 "female" mounts get glued to the dinghy side, and they snap into those receivers, then you can flip the dinghy against the transom.
You can look it up on the internet and see how they work and buy the mating parts if you choose to.

Weaver dinghy mounts. The dinghy has stainless steel "loops" which slip into these hoohs. The collar slides to the rear to allow the rings to be locked in tightly. I use this system and love it.

Thanks folks!

Those were all the hints I needed as I took the suggestion on looking at videos and managed to do the below this morning. We are going to prefer this much more than using the mast lifting technique and storing on deck. Only downside is I spent many an hour this winter Wooding down and varnishing our beautiful transom that you now can’t see but everything‘s a trade-off right?

Thanks again folks!

It will be much easier to launch/retrieve the dinghy on the platform rather than lifting it up onto the aft deck.

I don’t prefer a tender on the swim platform in bad weather or high seas. On rivers and lakes with nice weather.
