navionix missing AIS?

I recently installed a wifi router to send the AIS (from my AIS receiver) nema signal to my Android tablet which is running Navionix. It worked fine two days ago. Yesterday my subscription ended. Today when I tried to turn on the Navionix AIS button I get the message saying I must" buy Navionix plus to get this feature". What's the deal here? I thought once you load Navionix and buy the charts it all resides in the tablet's memory without additional cost.

Has their service changed? The charts work fine, just the AIS is missing.

I can't confirm but some forums do say that AIS display requires the subscription: e.g. https://sailingkerguelen.com/en/how-to-receive-ais-targets-on-your-tablet-with-navionics/
