Just got the bad news on one of my engines. It has to be pulled and replace the block. Problem is, can't find one in the PNW and more extended searching isn't coming up with anything either. Anyone know of one available?

But why, what is wrong with block?
I ask because I got such a diagnosis once and it turned out to be a valve cover gasket leaking oil. If you do not know why a good reason, get a second opinion.
I have had 3 diesel mechs check it out and take it apart. Not interested in troubleshooting again in an online forum. Thanks for sharing your own experience.
Great, not really, but you know the problem and I guess you do not want to share it to help others avoid having the same thing happen.
You just want a lead to a block. I would certainly look at the 10K one being offered on TF. Good luck.
These engines and blocks become available on a pretty regular basis, just keep following.

Good move, you now have lots of ancillary spare parts too.The diesel guy found a working engine to replace my old one. He's going to install it next week. He sent me a video of the engine, on the ground. He started it and ran it at varying RPM for several minutes while checking for any strange sounds, vibrations, smoke, etc. Seems OK and the price was reasonable so I gave the "go ahead".

I consulted an engine machinist about FL when I was looking at buying. He said that there were some that had porous castings and A/F would leak into the cylinders through the cylinder walls. He did say that that was typically a problem that showed up fairly soon after manufacture. They can be sleeved (I'm pretty sure). Before giving up on the block I would talk to a reputable engine machinist. These guys are real good at repairing virtually any problem with blocks, including cracks that I've seen "stitched". It's pretty amazing. Best of luck.Just got the bad news on one of my engines. It has to be pulled and replace the block.
