In the blink of an eye Joy tore down the PO’s 4ft fluorescent shop light fixture. “Doesn’t belong on this boat” she said . So we installed this Hubbell light fixture this weekend. Now we can use a bug light and enjoy late dinners on the deck without the bugs.

Good electrical safety upgrade Marty and Joy. Love the paddle fan, light and comfort.

Salty AF, as the kids say :)

But I can’t see where you’re supposed to hang the crystal prisms...

" So we installed this Hubbell light fixture this weekend."

Great choice for most marine electrical gear.

Hope you sold that old florescent fixture, Marty. Or repurposed it.

Marine rated ones (with the latches, like in your photo) are actually fairly expensive.

As your boat used to be commercial, it kind of fits. I do like your new fixture better though.

Paddle fan ought to discourage the skeeters when at anchor.

They are spendy. I was looking to see about retrofitting some in the engine room and was surprised at their expense. I went the route of replacing the AC tubes with DC LEDs instead.

But, yes, the tube style bulbs don't really have the right nautical flair for that area.

Meh. I think it was better before with humming, flickering flos and cozy institutional vibe colors.
