Weeeeell, I had been interested in boats and such for years and was looking at working as a boat's crew since 2007 or so, but I was in the military, so I tried waiting until I got out in 2012. After that I could not for the life of me figure out how to get into the industry, so I focused on other paths (my experience was and still is law enforcement and security). Fast forward many years and jobs, and found the SIU. I applied for their apprenticeship program, got my MMC and medical card up at NMC for processing, got my TWIC and Passport... and now apparently there is a huge waitlist for Piney Point. So, I figured I would troll some forums, check indeed, etc for inexperienced deckhand type jobs.
