Should the neutral and ground wires be bonded at my generator? I have the manuals, but they don't say. My marina now has the new circuit breakers that detect current leakage. One or the other phase will trip at the dock pedestal even with all my AC breakers off. My neutrals and grounds at the generator are always connected regardless of the shore power transfer switch position. It has been tough running on only one phase.

The simple answer is yes, your neutrals and grounds should be connected at the generator.

To be wired correctly, your Gen, Off, Shore, switch should connect/disconnect both the power and neutrals.

Most likely your issue with the shore power pedestal is a ground/neutral combination some where in your boat. However, there could be other causes of this issue.
