Has anyone ever heard of Paravanes being added to or used on a GB? I've seen them on many other boats and know they are considered pretty comparable (performance wise) to active fin stabilization. Install cost of Paravanes is substantially less than fins, are virtually maintenance free, but obviously require some planning for deployment/retrieval. They can also serve as F/S's at anchorage.

And they will need significant structural improvements to the flybridge on a GB. The flybridge have basically a cosmetic surround on most boats. It certainly can be done but it will cost a small bundle.

There are very likely at least a few GB42s that has paravanes. Existing mast and boom go away.

I would think an H-Frame positioned over the aft bulkhead between stateroom and saloon would place it perfectly 1/3rd from transom which I believe is what Beebe suggests. Strongback supports for the frame. From there, outrigger poles would be fixed on caprails outboard of H-Frame, also transverse of bulkhead.

TF tends to over complicated paravanes.
