Need some help please. What would be the right was to approach Richardson bay and get to Clipper Yacht Harbor? When I look at the chart it looks shallow in most of the bay with obstructions. There appears to be a channel on the west side, but the chart also indicates a shoal. Any clarification would be appreciated.

There's a well marked channel which pretty much ends as you approach CYH. Basically, you'll be running between the marina and yacht club docked boats and the anchored vessels. The CYH website has a good marina map for orientation when you get there. We had no issue with shoaling or depths...not even close. We draw 3'4". Lots of sail boats there which draw MUCH more than us.

West Marine up the street on the right, then grocery story past that on the left. Good restaurants nearby including Avatar (to the right at the grocery store) which serves unique 'fusion cuisine', blending cuisines from India and other locales in an interesting way. Not expensive either. Also the first restaurant/bar you see when walking out of the marina (forget its name) is fun and we enjoyed our meal.

Al, our "girls" anticipating eating at the Avatar last year:
