replacing old seacocks with Trudesign though hull

I need to replace my aft heads through hull seacock. Does anyone have experience of replacing theirs with a Trudesign seacock?
Aslo does anyone know what size to use for this? The boat is a GB42 1992.

Do not have any experience with the brand you mentioned, but we also have an older GB 42 (older than yours) and we found all the seacocks to be high quality bronze.
Some of ours were frozen in one position because prior owners never exercised them nor maintained them; but we found them all to be worthy of taking apart, cleaning, and lubing up so they worked again.
Was impressed that they seem to be very good quality.
Same with the head Y valves.
They were frozen in one position and gummed up; but after soaking in PB Blaster we got them working again too.
Are yours not very good quality?
Not worth trying to rebuild?

Mr. WSD. Welcome aboard. Fully agree with Mr. MG. Unless your seacock is totally destroyed you would, IMO, be much further ahead re-building IF original.
Even the Taiwanese boats of lesser "quality" than GB used very good bronze equipment. Well worth saving.
Most seize up through lack of use and lubrication. One should exercise the sc's whenever you get the chance (weekly?) and lubricate as necessary.

As for sizing, replacement with a like size of the new ones if you go that route. No need to go up or down unless you simply want to.

And I agree that some mtce. will improve them.
All seacocks require some mtce. from time to time.

And if you go up in size you need to make sure that the hull material you remove to get the larger size valve installed doesn’t allow seawater to get into the core material (if it is cored below the waterline). Don’t expect the external hull gasket, if any, to stop the sw intrusion.

As others have said, best to stick with the original size valves if you want to replace them. But even better is to restore the oem valves.

BTW, Marelon was/is the gold standard for composite ball valves and thru hull fittings. I had them on a boat and they worked very well, although harder to turn than well lubricated bronze valves. Don’t know anything about the Trudesign valves.

Usually if you do go with another mfgr. seacock replace like size with like size. unless there is a volume problem. Usually the outlet is 1.5" for a manual toilet.
