I'm about to purchase a 1987 model w/twin 210hp Cummins engines (1200 hours). Built in RI, they're supposed use composite cores (a big plus). Our current wooden boat is a typical downeast 32' (semi displacement built down keel), built by Hugo Lehtinen (Tenants Harbor, Me). I'm not sure what to expect from the Shannon's modified V-hull. Heard they're a good ride out on the water. But how about low speed handling? Anyone have any experience with these or similar hulled boat? Thanks!

Looks vaguely familiar. If it's anything like my 34 Californian which is a solid FRP hull, she's a smooth ride in chop, a bit rolly in a beam sea and uncooperative but predictable in a following sea at displacement speeds. I'm confident the roll and following seas traits are much improved (if not gone) at planing speeds, but my twin 85 hp Perkins will not push me to those speeds.
